Today was a day for varied exercises.
Physical fitness day 8 diet: Five 12 oz glasses of water, Lunch: @cheddars restaurant, Chicken Parmesan w/vegetables & Barq’s Root Beer, Dinner Peperoni Pizza and breadsticks.
Physical fitness day 8 exercise: This morning we awoke and went to the zoo. We walked around for a few hours with the younger two kids, my wife and I. It is Saturday, and the zoo was crowded, but it was fun. Once we got back home, and after dinner, I mowed the lawn. That’s another 1/2 hour of walking. In all I walked 5.5 miles today.
A few people I work with started a 30-day ab challenge, and I’ve joined in. Join me and let me know how you did in the comments.
Day 1 for the 30 day ab challenge was pretty simple:
- 15 sit ups
- 5 crunches
- 5 leg lifts
- 10 second plank
I also did 30 push-ups today, and finished off my night with a short bike ride. I rode 1.5 miles in 4:25 this evening mostly just to test my new bike seat. I bought a simple air gel bike seat by Bell from Walmart for about $27.00. It is must thicker and more comfortable than the stock seat that was on the bike when I bought it.
Varied exercises keep your muscles guessing
So, like I said before… Today was a day filled with varied exercise. If you start on a new workout regimen the only chance for it lasting a long time is to keep your exercises varied. Varied exercise will utilize different muscle groups and also keep you from getting bored with the same old thing day after day.
Since I did a little bit of everything today, it will be tougher to vary my exercise, but I’ll have ab challenge day 2 and I’ll probably go for a longer bike ride with that new bike seat.
