Physical Fitness Day 5: Yoga
As one of my tips to physical fitness, flexibility fitness should not be overlooked. Yoga is the best way to gain flexibility. I’ve been dreading it since typing it, but that’s not an excuse!
Physical fitness day 5 diet: YIKES! We had a carry-in at work today, and I found myself munching on things all morning. I ate fruits and veg, along with buffalo chicken dip, apple dump cake, cookies, and zucchini bread, for dinner we had cobb salads at home. I drank about 20 ounces of frostop root beer (and reviewed it on this site). I also drank 40 ounces of water today.
Physical fitness day 5 exercise: I walked 2 1/4 miles today mostly in general, everyday walking. We did walk as a family to the store though, which was good, but not far. The big exercise regimen for today was implementing yoga into my workout schedule. I’m going to be doing yoga at least two times a week from now on. Yoga improves flexibility and strength. The yoga I’m doing is pulled from a popular workout set of DVD that I purchased a couple of years ago. It’s from the P90X workout series. I’m only using the Yoga X DVD at this time.
Yoga X
The Yoga X DVD is a 90 minute yoga workout that covers the entire body. This being the first time I tried to do it, I only made it through the first 30 minutes, where he says that if you’re going to take a break, this is the time to do it. The first 30 minutes are a grueling combination of non-stop yoga poses for the shoulders and legs mostly.
You’ll find yourself in namaste pose for very short amounts of time as the instructor tells you what is going to happen next. Other poses and positions included in the first 30 minutes of Yoga X include: Plank, Chataranga, Downward Facing Dog, Warrior 1, Warrior 2, Warrior 3, Triangle Pose, and more.
Yoga is hard yo!
