My name is Curtis Smeltzer.  I am the founder of Handy Father.  I am a website designer by profession, and work from home most of the time.  I have a lovely wife and three kids. One of the biggest challenges in my life is balancing work with family, but it is fun!

My website design home business company goes under my name, Curtis Smeltzer Graphic Design.  I have done website design since 2004.  I’ve designed well over 100 website for a variety of different types of businesses.  From small, non-profits to multinational businesses, I can tailor my product to meet most any website design needs.  I design most of my sites using the WordPress platform (which is the platform this site is built under).

Is this business suitable for a Handy Father Home Business?

Website design home businesses are definitely suitable for the handy father!  You should be good with computers, and willing to learn basic website design skills.  With a little time, you can develop the skills needed to do home business website design as a part-time business at least.

What you need to get started with your website design home business:

1. Website Hosting.  I recommend Fatcow Website Hosting.  
2. Build your own website.  If this is your first website, spend some time on it, and learn some of the ins and outs of html, css, and wordpress.  These will be the foundation upon which you build websites for clients.
3. Find some customers!
