Physical Fitness Day 1: Pushmowing IS cardio right??
Physical fitness day 1: Grade B-…
Today’s Physical Fitness Day 1 diet: 5 glasses of water (ounces not calculated yet), Lunch: small bowl of potato salad. Dinner 2 bowls of my homemade handy sausage & potato soup. It is about the time of day I usually veg out and have pop and snacks now, but as of the writing of this post, that’s all Ive eaten.
Today’s Physical Fitness Day 1 exercise: I started the day with hauling all of our unwanted stuff to the front yard for a yard sale, and later lugged a lot of it to the Goodwill bin when it didn’t sell. After dinner, I got out my Fitbit that connects wirelessly to my iPhone and counts calories burned, steps taken, and distance covered when we went for a walk, and kept it on while I was push-mowing then after. In all, I walked 4 miles and took 8,418 steps. I’d say it was semi-cardio exercise walking.
Yesterday during my triple header softball games, I collided with a base-runner while tagging him out en route to first base. I did get him out, but I also hurt my left knee a bit. I think I’ll hold off of any strenuous leg workouts today.
If you didn’t read the post from yesterday, I encourage you to read Physical Fitness for Handy Fathers, and jump on board with me in this journey to physical fitness. I’m no expert at fitness, but I have the desire to be better than I am. If you share that desire, do it for yourself, your kids, and your wives. Handy Fathers unite!
I plan to finish Physical Fitness Day 1 off with some strength training exercises. I’ll do push-ups and some type of abdominal crunches, sit-ups, or leg lifts. An update will come tomorrow!
