This is a handy little item is called the twig.  It is a headphone tangle preventer. It is kept on the headphone wire right on the audio jack.  When you’re ready to put the headphones in your pocket or just away for a while, slip the earbud wires into the handy little slots and the headphone will be tangle free when you go to use them again!
