Barq’s Root Beer Review – The national brand Coca-cola has had Barq’s root beer in their repertoire in 1995, but has been made in some form since 1898.

Barq’s root beer is the only root beer to be reviewed by Handy Father that contains caffeine so far.  Caffeine is found in Barq’s in all areas except Utah and few other select places.

There is a decent flavor in this soda.  It has a high carbonation content, as do most national brand sodas.  The high fructose corn syrup is a strong influence to the flavor.

The slogan, “Barq’s has bite” is most likely because of the caffeine content more than the flavor.  This is a run-of-the-mill soda, that’s drinkable, but not outstanding.

We gave the Barq’s root beer review a score of 3.0 out of 5 stars for the mainstream flavor, but still drinkable-ness.

Barq’s root beer is very mainstream, and thus, you can find it almost anywhere the Coca-cola products are sold.
